§ 68-1. Animals running at large. [Added 12-3-1973 by Ord. No. 73-21]

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to permit any dog, cat, pet or other livestock owned by him or under his supervision or control to run at large either upon the public streets or highways of the township, upon the private property of any other person or upon any property not belonging to or in the possession of the owner of such animals or to persons under whose supervision or control such animals are being kept.

§ 68-2. Licensed animals not excepted from regulations. [Added 12-3-1973 by Ord. No. 73-21]

  • The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all dogs and other animals in the nature of pets found running at large in violation of § 68-1, irrespective of payment for or issuance of any license in respect to the animal involved.

§ 68-3. Animals disturbing the peace.

  • No person shall allow any dog or other domestic animal owned by him or under his control or any nondomesticated animal confined on that person's premises to make any loud or harsh noise or disturbance which shall interfere with or deprive the peace, quiet, rest or sleep of any person within the township.

  • Any person, firm or corporation who or which violates or permits a violation of this chapter, upon being found liable therefor in a civil enforcement proceeding, shall pay a fine of not more than $600, plus all court costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, incurred by the township in the enforcement of this chapter. No judgment shall be imposed until the date of the determination of the violation by the District Justice and/or Court. If the defendant neither pays nor timely appeals the judgment, the township may enforce the judgment pursuant to the applicable rules of civil procedure. Each day a violation exists shall constitute a separate offense. Further, the appropriate officers or agents of the township are hereby authorized to seek equitable relief, including injunction, to enforce compliance herewith.
